Working with Peanuts allowed me to enhance my skills in vendor relations and collaborate closely with our pattern makers to create the best samples. One key aspect of this collaboration was addressing the limitations in our material printing process. By working directly with the factory and clearly communicating our design needs, we were able to upgrade to new printing machines. This advancement enabled us to expand our pattern repeat length to 108 inches, ensuring each bag featured a unique sequence, with no design appearing twice on a single product.
Another significant project within this collection was the creation of the “Plaza Tote.” This tote was woven with a unique 45-degree pattern that cleverly recreated the iconic zig-zag of Charlie Brown’s yellow and black shirt. The intricate weaving and printing process not only paid homage to this beloved character but also demonstrated our ability to blend creativity with technical precision.
Throughout this project, I worked closely with our vendors to ensure the feasibility and quality of these complex designs. The process involved numerous trials and adjustments to achieve the desired outcome.
This experience honed my development skills and reinforced my ability to innovate within the constraints of production capabilities. The Harveys X Peanuts collection stands as a testament to my commitment to pushing creative boundaries and delivering unique, high-quality products that resonate with customers.
